What is a Pre-Tied Bandana Headcover?

A Pre-tied Bandana is basically a Pre-tied Womens  Head Scarf. These Pre tied Head Scarves are also known as Pre tied Tichels. Pre- tied Snoods, and a variety of other names. In essence, it is a bandana head covering  that is pre-sewn with an elastic in the back making a convenient, comfortable and time saving head covering,
Pretieds are available in a wide range of fabric and styles from solid colors to prints to solids with appliques, there are cotton bandanas as well as lycra, velour, and terry. Basically there is a design available to fit everyone's taste.
The Pre-tied is a comfortable and versatile women's head scarves which has led to it quickly becoming one of the more popular womens headcoverings i.e "Pre-tied Head Scarf".

Is a Pre-Tied Bandana right for me?

PreTieds are a full coverage head covering making them ideal both for women covering their hair for religous purposes as well as those looking for a nice and comfortable headcover to help them deal with hair loss from cause such as alopecia or a chemo head covering.
In fact the wide range of fabrics and designs as well as the many different styles to wear Pre-tied Bandannas have caused the Pre-tieds popularity to surge among those dealing with Hair Loss that would like to "cover up" but still maintain their individuality.
In addition MyHeadcoverings.com features a seperate section of Pre-tied Bandana's with Height. These headcovers are made with either a twist knot added to the front (similar to the Classic Snood with Twist front) or a piece of "foam filler" sewn in to the front to add some height. How do I wear a Pre-tied Bandana Head Scarf?

Tails Hanging Down
Just throw the pre-tied on and you're ready to go. Bandanas come with different tail lengths, so check the given measurements to find the right one for you.
Tails Tied up
This particular picture shows long tails tied up to resemble a medium tail length.
If you are wearing a medium length pre-tie to start with and you tie it, it will result in a short tailed look. Many women like to tie the tails of the pre-tied for the feeling of security the tighter tie provides.
Israeli Tichel Look
This look is accomplished by twisting the tails around your pony/bun. This can only be done with a long tailed pre-tied bandana like the DaCee Designs 14 inch long tailed pre-tie.
Bandana Look
This Look is achieved by placing the pre-tie on top of your hair, wig, or hat fall, with the hair hanging down.

How do I figure out the right size for me?

Most companies make Pre-tied Bandanas with a one size fits all cap. The general rule is that each company has their own unique fit. Here is a general guide towards the companies we carry.
1) DaCee Designs - DaCee is quickly emerging as one of the most popular higher end manufacturers of Pre-tied Bandanas. Women like their cap size because it generally fits securely on the head, women with smaller heads especially like the DaCee fit.
2) Uptown Girls Snoods - Uptown is one of the oldest manufacturers of Women's Headwear, and their cap size is of the medium variety. It is a comfortable fit for women with average heads and has enough fabric to allow for your hair. Their tails are long and also tend to be wider than the DaCee Designs.
3) It's Younique - The
It's Younique pretied  goes very well on women with small to average sized heads.
4) Daffodil - the Daffodil pre-tied bandanas tend to have a roomier cut and while it goes well on women with average sized heads it also can fit women with a larger head.
5) LadyBug - LadyBug is an Israeli Pre-tied Head Scarf and we bring them in for the variety as they tend to have a different look then their American counterparts, as well as for the coolness of their fabrics which are meant to be worn comfortably in the heat of the Israeli summer. Their fit of their Pre-tied Bandana's  are not as uniform as some of their American counterparts, however they tend to be a more secure then UpTown or Daffodil but roomier then the DaCee that also can go very well on women with smaller heads. An added reason why many women like LadyBug Headscarves is because they have fabric covering up the elastic in the back so one does not feel the elastic on their neck.
6) Cherie - Cherie, like Uptown is made of a roomier fit and allows for the hair in pack to be comfortably tucked up. It fits a little looser around the head than others which many women find extremely comfortable. Cherie Pre-tieds come in 2 different tail lenghts, short and long.

Size Tip
If you get a Pre-tied that you find to be too large for you don't worry - you can just tie the tails in the back thereby instantly rendering it more secure! Or, another great product for Pre-tied Slippage is the
Milano WiGrip Comfort Band.
We get many complaints from women that there Pre-tied head scarf either feels to tight or is constantly slipping off their head as well as many other issues.
If this is happening to you then the first thing to do is start experimenting. try a Pre-tied Bandana from a different company and see if it fits better. Remember Pre-tied Bandana's are clothing and each company has a different cut which fits differently.

How should I wash my Pre-tied Bandana head scarf?

The general rule of thumb is - the more gentle you are, the longer the pre-tied will last.
We recommend hand washing in cold water and laying it flat to dry on a towel to prevent stretching.
Please note that Pre-tied Israeli Tichels (also known as Pre-tied Mitpachot or Pre Tied Head Scarves) with lurex should be treated the same as regular Israeli Tichels. They should be hand washed and layed flat to dry. Doing so will lengthen th lifespan of the Israeli Tichel Pre-tied. Never Put a Pre-tied Israeli Tichel in the Washing Machine!
